Third-year rotations will be 6 weeks in length, instead of the traditional 4 weeks, and will cover the 6 primary areas of specialty (Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, OB/Gyn, Pediatrics, Surgery, and Psychiatry). Weeks one and six are accomplished on-campus with weeks two through five on service.
In week one, Noorda-COM faculty will prepare students for discipline specific content through a blending of:
Students will then complete 4 weeks of clinical service at one of our clinical partners who are all within 30-35 minutes of campus. On service, core clinical rotation academics are supported from campus through online, asynchronous, learning objective-driven content, to include performance feedback using the same format students experienced in years one and two. Clinical Adjunct Faculty will evaluate students on service-related competencies and milestones. During week 6, end of service skills assessments, Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs), and shelf exams are accomplished on-campus and led by Noorda-COM faculty.
